Hours of work: Full-time position with hours Monday – Friday, 8 hours, flexed between the hours of 6:00 am and 4:00pmTravel: Occasional Overnight and overseas travel to visit job sitesThe Project Manager I represents the headquarters Facilities Engineering Department while resident at our largest manufacturing plant. The Project Manager I does so by supporting all capital projects at the facility to assure compliance with corporate reporting requirements, adherence to policies, and delivery of successful outcomes. The Project Manager I may also lead one or more major capital improvement projects with a combined portfolio of up to $2 million at the carbon plant personally. The Project Manager I has accountability for all aspects of projects beginning with scope definition and justification, and extending through design, construction, and start-up. Project responsibilities includes planning and control of scope, schedule, budget, and quality. Additionally, The Project Manager I ensures all projects satisfy financial reporting requirements. The Project Manager I may also work as part of a team for large projects elsewhere in the company under the direction of a Senior Project Manager. Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)* Ensure all projects are executed in compliance with the company’s Fixed Asset Capitalization Policy* Work safely, fully participate in and support all corporate programs related to safety* Support all plant team members in development and proper completion of project status information for all projects executed at facility* Provide periodic status reports, cost reports and financial projections over the course of the project* Support the proper identification and value of new asset base at completion of projects* Ensure information relating to projects being executed at the plant is current and can be relied upon by corporate to accurately convey the status of all projects* Communicate effectively with Manufacturing, Leadership, and Procurement teams to meet project goals* Generate project scope and justification* Develop execution plan drawing on mix of internal and external resources. • Lead team to develop technical specifications, equipment specifications and drawings for a proper design • Develop, maintain, and control project schedule* Develop, maintain, and control budget* Coordinate internal stakeholders to design for best practice* Oversee construction activities, including management and direction of subcontractors* Establish and maintain project files* Complete the Project close-out process* Work with internal and external resources to ensure work is completed to applicable environmental and government requirements* Ensure a fair procurement process* Generate purchase requisitions and approve payment* Create or direct the preparation of bid documents for subcontracted activities* Monitor and control supplier’s adherence to meeting specifications, schedule, and scope Qualifications* A bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.), or equivalent from four-year college or university is required (Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering is preferred)* Experience in a heavy industry manufacturing environment is required* Experience as a project manager is required* Experience monitoring status of work, projects, and/or similar metrics is required* Experience with SAP or similar systems is preferred More about Calgon Carbon, A Kuraray CompanyWe are a company of scientific innovators with over 205 patents.
