Veterans Resource Center
Salary Range: $3120 – $4592/Monthly
Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; non-exempt classification.
Essential Functions: Under the general supervision of the Veterans Resource Center (VRC) Director, the incumbent provides customer service to military-connected students requiring appropriate information or referral. The incumbent has a broad range of responsibilities and will: provide student veterans and dependents with department, college, and university information, policies and procedures and off-campus veterans support resources; provide administrative support for Veterans Resource Center events; coordinate the scheduling of events and reservation of conference rooms and classrooms; report any departmental facilities related issues; process and maintain records of all fiscal transactions and advise the Director on all fiscal matters pertaining to the operation of the Veterans Resource Center; collect student documentation submitted to VRC front desk and refer appropriately; prepare, process, and track all departmental purchase orders, requisitions, and other expenditures; and track and report Veterans Resource Center data. The incumbent will assist: in the supervision of VA work-study students and student assistants; with educational benefits certification process on an as needed basis; the VRC with correspondence, including an electronic newsletter; and maintain a welcoming environment within the VRC.
Required Qualifications & Experience: Two years of full-time general office experience, which included providing work direction or acting as a lead. Must possess proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, related software, and hardware; excellent verbal/written communication skills; strong customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to: learn and understand complex university regulations/policies; communicate effectively; meet deadlines, multi-task and work well under pressure; and collaborate with students, faculty, staff, and administrators to resolve problems and generate future solutions. Demonstrated interest and ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position.
Desired Qualifications: Experience working with veterans.
