Job Description:

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Ride Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of one or more of Canobie Lake Park’s rides including children and adult rides. Rides are operated by one or more team members and involve working outdoors the entire shift in all weather conditions. This is a physical position involving bending over, lifting and in some cases navigating stairs.

• Team members must be willing to accept the responsibilities of working directly with the public (our guests), including small children and their parents

• Team members perform all duties of ride operation including: o Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures o Monitoring the ride or activity o Operating ride controls to power their respective machinery safely o Assisting guests on or off an attraction which occasionally may involve the use of stairs or ladders o Safely securing riders in a carrier or vehicle o Communicating safety instructions o Cleaning the entire ride area o Answering questions and interacting with guests to provide outstanding service o Additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• *High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be patient, poised and courteous while working with others
• A positive attitude and alertness are required
• Must be proactive and safety conscious as well as able to interpret both written and verbal instructions
• Must be able to pass verbal, written and/or interactive exams after appropriate training
• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions for a prolonged period of time
• Must have the ability to respond and act quickly in various situations
• All applicants must be able to read, comprehend and speak the English language
• Must possess a willingness to uphold the safety standards and mission of Canobie Lake Park
• Must be well groomed, self-disciplined and able to lift objects
• Must adhere to the serious nature of the job and follow strict guidelines
• All applicants must be at least 16 years of age
