Tool Designer – REMOTE

5+ months contract with possible extension and hire

1st shift M-TH (4/10s)

This role has the possibility to extend past defined end date and potential permanent hire. This position is to support the initial deployment and configuration of the Mentor Xpedition tool suite. This role includes coordination with IT to setup the compute environment, tool installation, configuration, tuning, functional and performance testing and documentation of the technical solution and support process.
Experience with this tool suite both as an end user/subject matter expert and a tool administrator / manager is preferred.
General engineering tool experience with a similar tool environment will be considered, such as Cadence Allegro and Zuken CR8000.
Candidate will work under the supervision of a tools technical lead.

Technical Skills:

Knowledge in CAD/CAE tools: YES; 2 – 4 Years

Tools/Technology: YES; 2 – 4 Years

Basic Qualifications:

• Engineering tool administration and management
• UNIX/Windows administration
• Scripting skills
• Self-starter with the ability to excel in a dynamic and virtual environment
• High level of self-motivation
• Customer service relationships
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of agile and/or DevSecOps principles and techniques
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills
• Proficient at technical writing

Desired Skills:

• Mentor (Siemens) Xpedition tool administration, management, or as an end-user
• Zuken tool administration, management, or other usage, or as an end-user
• ECAD/MCAD tool administration, management, or as an end-user
• Tool integration
• Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Engineering data migration
• BA Degree is NOT Required but Desired.
