About the Role

As an MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) Engineer, you will be responsible for the initial analysis, solution design, on-site implementation and technical support of MES implementations.

Key Tasks:

• System monitoring, troubleshooting, problem resolution, development and change management
• Implementation of HMI, MES, and SCADA platforms to support manufacturing environment
• Collaboration to design, build, and develop architectures and long term solutions to manufacturing systems
• Features testing and performance, and implementation fixes
• Plan and execute internal system upgrades and feature rollouts
• Create development and end user documentation
• Implement Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices
• Travel interstate as required by Capral.

Essential

• Degree qualified in Engineering / Computer Science / MIS / Integrated Manufacturing disciplines
• SQL Database system development experience
• Python and/or Java or similar programming language (Ignition uses Python on a Java virtual machine)
• Integration experience with platforms such as ERP
• Experience in Agile development, SDLC
• Ability to document and socialize procedures, findings, improvements, & techniques
• Interface with all business units, ability to work with end user clients from factory floor to upper management.

Desirable:

• Experience in manufacturing environments MES, SCADA, HMI, data and analytics
• Programming PLCs utilizing ladder logic for automation of processes, field equipment and instrumentation.
