Job Overview

As a Data Entry Associate at Cardiology Associates of Altoona, you will play a critical role in supporting the efficiency of our practice by accurately inputting, updating, and maintaining patient information and medical data into our systems. Your attention to detail, commitment to accuracy, and ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately enter patient data, including personal information, medical history, and billing details, into the electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Verify and update patient records to ensure data integrity and compliance with healthcare standards.
• Process and track patient forms, insurance details, and other relevant documents.
• Assist in the preparation of reports and other administrative tasks as required.
• Communicate with team members and departments to resolve discrepancies in data and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling patient information.
• Perform routine audits of data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with data management tasks, including data entry for billing and coding purposes.
• Handle incoming patient queries related to data updates or discrepancies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Proven experience in data entry or administrative support, ideally in a healthcare setting.
• Proficiency in using data entry systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), and EHR software (experience with Epic or similar systems is a plus).
• Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in data entry.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare practices is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA and privacy regulations.
