Cardiology Associates of Altoona is seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized Data Entry Technician to join our growing team. The Data Entry Technician will be responsible for accurately entering, updating, and maintaining patient data and clinical information into our database systems. This role requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to ensuring the integrity of patient records.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately input patient information, including medical records, appointments, billing, and other healthcare data into electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Review and verify data for completeness and accuracy before entering into the system.
• Ensure data integrity and confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA guidelines and company policies.
• Perform routine data audits to identify and correct discrepancies.
• Assist in generating reports related to patient data as required by medical staff and management.
• Communicate with clinical and administrative teams to resolve any data-related issues.
• Maintain and update databases to ensure up-to-date information is always available.
• Assist in data retrieval and preparation for internal and external audits.
• Provide general administrative support when needed, including filing, scanning, and organizing documents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in data entry, healthcare administration, or a related field is a plus.
• Previous experience in data entry, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting, is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.), and experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with all data protection regulations, including HIPAA.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
• Ability to lift or move office supplies and files as needed.
