We are currently seeking an Alcohol and Drug Clinician to join our team based in South Auckland. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to individuals struggling with alcohol and drug addiction.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals seeking help for alcohol and drug addiction.
• Develop treatment plans based on the individual’s needs and goals.
• Provide individual and group counseling to clients and their families.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and make adjustments as necessary.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to provide comprehensive care.
• Maintain accurate and complete client records and documentation.
• Provide education and support to clients and their families regarding addiction and recovery.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in the field of addiction and recovery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
• Preferred a minimum of 2 years of experience in the addiction and recovery field.
• Current New Zealand registration and APC with the relevant professional association.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Knowledge of evidence-based addiction treatment approaches.
• Cultural competence and sensitivity to the needs of diverse populations.
• Legal right to work in New Zealand
• Ability to facilitate evening groups
