Carlisle Children’s Center Hiring for Administrative Assistant at Carlisle, MA Full Time

We are looking for a full or part time Administrative Assistant or Office Manager to support the Director, help the teachers in the classroom as needed, manage transitions in and out of the classroom, and assist with resource needs. Tuition is fully included for the right person.

This role will report to the Director and is responsible for ensuring the preschool runs smoothly. This role will have a high degree of flexibility, authority, and autonomy, and will be a partner to the Director.

Some key areas of responsibility are:

Administrative

• Performing regular recordkeeping, handling correspondence, monthly parent memos, managing inquiries, and other administrative duties on behalf of the Director

Teacher Support

• Assisting teachers as needed with classroom activities, supporting transitions, break coverage, keeping classrooms well-stocked, and providing or arranging for substitute teacher coverage

Operational

• Assisting the Director with planning activities, inventory, social media and marketing, scheduling and resourcing

The right person for this role will be a self-starter who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves, take initiative, and wear a lot of different hats.

This person should be flexible and laid back, someone who can go with the flow and communicate with a small organization to ensure that we are all swimming in the same direction.

This job will have a lot of flexibility and this person must be comfortable with ambiguity, comfortable around children, and willing to manage competing priorities and staff scheduling.

Key qualifications:

• High school graduate
• Early childhood coursework strongly preferred but not required
• Prior office / teaching experience a plus
• Computer literacy a plus
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
• Must pass a state-mandated background records check

Hours are flexible and can be either part or full time (roughly 8-3) at our preschool in Carlisle, MA.
