Job Summary: Provides laboratory customer service support via telephone to physician offices, patients, patient care areas and other CaroMont departments. Telephone services include test availability, specimen requirements, and test results. Also performs a variety of clerical duties including patient registration, order management, specimen receipt, labeling, pre-analytical processing, specimen distribution and result distribution. Exceptional accuracy required while working with multiple computer applications.
Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent. No prior laboratory experience required. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Experience with computers and data entry required. Medical Terminology knowledge and experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Considerate ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment and with varied tasks simultaneously. Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
