CASA is looking for a qualified health records clerk to join our team. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently and as part of a team, and is detail-oriented, organized, able to prioritize tasks and enhance existing processes. The health records clerk will actively contribute to CASA working towards its five-year roadmap. Job Description
The health records clerk will be involved with the administration of an efficient and effective organizational management of all paper and electronic-based health information, and will help determine the most appropriate storage methods for medical records. Other responsibilities will include the enforcement of records management policies, the maintenance and review of records systems, implementation of retention and disposal schedules and the standardization of information resources. Duties include:
Administering an effective organization-wide paper and electronic records management system in accordance with established policies, standards, best practices and legislative requirements.
Performing quality checks to ensure that standards are met.
Involvement in decisions regarding the most appropriate methods for storing, arranging, indexing and classifying records to meet business needs.
Accurately filing medical documentation into the patient file and completing records audits.
Coordinating all ROIs with health information and privacy manager and/or privacy advisor.
Intake coverage when required (see intake description).

Qualifications
Diploma in medical records management or related field required.
One year of related experience (e.g., records retention management).
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of records and information management functions including experience in implementing records management systems.
Experience in monitoring and assessing compliance in the area of records retention
Experience in tactically applying records management principles and practices, specifically in the area of records retention and disposition.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly with respect to explaining technical information to all levels of employees.
Effective time management skills with ability to meet deadlines and achieve targets in a team environment.
Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
High level of integrity, confidentiality and accountability.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel software.
