We are seeking to hire a Hardware Validation Engineer to join our collaborative, high growth organization for a 9-month, fixed-term contract located at our office based in Lane Cove, Sydney, Australia.

The Hardware Validation Engineer will impact the organization through preparing the software tools with which hardware tests will be performed, maintaining the documentation produced by hardware tests, and participating in the requirements management life cycle as a member of the hardware validation team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan and create reliable, scalable automated tests.
• Create software to automate a variety of equipment for use within the hardware validation team.
• Assist in hardware debug by rapidly creating software tools for very specific tasks.
• Extract testable features from product requirements.
• Interact with the company’s requirements management systems together with and on behalf of the hardware validation team.
• Author test reports for a variety of specific audiences, both internal and external to the team and the organisation.
• Review test plans, procedures, setups, and code, and strive towards continuous improvement.
• Develop electronics skills through regular interactions with hardware engineers.
• technical issues raised and consulting with internal teams to recommend solutions quickly and effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree in an engineering degree with both programming and electronics elements.
• Relevant experience as a validation, test, or automation engineer.
• Demonstrable skills and experience programming in Bash, C/C++, Python, or Matlab.
• Experience operating with the requirements management life cycle.
• Demonstrable research and documentation skills, ideally in published works or contributions to an industry standard.
• Experience with communications technologies such as 4G, 5G, Bluetooth, Ethernet, Gfast, VDSL, and WiFi, and how they work
• Automation experience in a professional environment.
• Strong teamwork and ability to work with colleagues from a variety of disciplines.
• Great communication and presentation skills.
• Demonstrate professionalism and a passion for quality in all tasks.
