JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to perform mailroom and clerical duties in accordance with the office procedures of individual departments. May include a combination of answering telephones, bookkeeping, typing or word processing, data entry, office machine operation, and filing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Receive, inspect, sort and distribute high volumes of incoming mail and packages from USPS, private carriers (DHL, FedEx, UPS, etc. ) and other vendor deliveries, while maintaining knowledge of each vendor’s shipping and receiving practices.
Determine the destination of incoming mail & packages, log and notify appropriate department or team members. Will sort by priority ensuring high-value corporate assets are expedited for distribution.
Maintain mailroom supplies inventory.
Work with security to implement asset protection and tracking measures when required.
Safely drive the interoffice vehicle to pickup and transfer between locations.
Maintain and update filing, inventory, mailing, and database systems, either manually or using a computer.
Review files, records, and other documents to obtain information to respond to requests.
Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. One year in a mailroom or an administrative environment preferred.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Knowledge of Google Workspace applications. Ability to type 40 WPM preferred.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Decisions made with general understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
