WATERSPORTS ASSISTANT | €13.09 per hour

Please note this is a fixed term contract until October 2023

Our Watersports Lake is at the heart of the village and we offer activities for everyone, from hiring a pedalo or rowing boat with the family, to paddleboard tuition and raft building. We are now looking for confident, motivated individuals to join our Outdoor Pursuits team as Watersports Assistants.

In this role you will assist in the day to day running of the department. You will meet and greet our guests at our Boathouse, offering them a warm welcome and coach and supervise them in a range of exciting activities, allowing them to have fun whilst also feeling safe and secure. You will oversee the hire of crafts, operation of the till, lake safety cover and cash handling duties. At the Boathouse we also look after the Adventure Golf Facility, which involves operating and maintaining the adventure golf hut and course.

This role will also involve you working closely with others within the department as well as across the wider Village, therefore excellent communication skills will be required.

Due to the sensitive nature of this role the successful applicants will be required to undergo Garda Vetting. This disclosure, together with other selection information, will need to be satisfactory to the Company for employment to commence.

ABOUT YOU

Essential requirements:

• Must be 18 years or over
• Powerboat qualification (full training will be provided)
• An outgoing personality
• Enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions

Desirable requirements:

• Paddle Sports qualification
• First Aid qualification
• Previous experience of working within the Leisure/customer service industry
• Experience of Watersports activities

HOURS OF WORK

We have the following contracts available on a flexible basis. This means that your hours and days of work could vary each week, but you will always receive at least your contracted hours each period.

• 120 hours per 4-week period –
• 60 hours per 4-week period –

As our Village is open 365 days of the year, your working hours will include weekends, public / bank holidays and during Christmas and / or New Year on a rota basis, with a premium rate of pay for hours worked on a Sunday.
