MajorDuties

As a Administrative Officer you will: Develop, initiate, and implement administrative policies and procedures for assigned areas of responsibility. Review and analyze administrative directives and policies to determine impact. Discuss pertinent issues with operating personnel to determine the impact on current operations. Serve as primary liaison with the human resources office. Analyze and make recommendations for best utilization of personnel resources. Assure accuracy of position descriptions through regular review and updating in conjunction with managers. Formulate the operating budget which is derived from multiple funding sources and addresses normal operating activities. Assist in the presentation of the budget. Ensure that all of the serviced organization’s budget plans reflect program objectives, priorities, commitments and a variety of administrative controls and established limitations. Administer procurement and contracting for the organization, including preparing procurement requests, evaluating proposals for work, and/or maintaining procurement and contracting records.

Requirements (continued) In accordance with Executive Order 12564 of September 14, 1986, The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is A Drug-Free Federal Workplace. The Federal government, as the largest employer in the Nation, can and should show the way towards achieving drug-free workplaces through programs designed to offer drug users a helping hand, and at the same time demonstrating to drug users and potential drug users that drugs will not be tolerated in the Federal workplace.
