This role will initially be based onsite during the first week or two, and will transition to a flexible working arrangement – a combination of remote and in office based on your preferences. The role

The ideal candidate will be an experienced L3 Linux Systems Engineer who has a passion for technology, a solid understanding of the corporate IT processes, systems and problem-solving. The candidate will work as part of our BAU Team.

You will be managing many Linux servers (and a small number of Windows servers) that are used by our customers to host their websites. The successful applicant will need to be able to work independently, be dynamic in the way they think and approach problems they may not have seen before and demonstrate a great deal of initiative. Essentially, we need great problem solvers!

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain full stack web hosting platforms for our clients
• Providing BAU technical support to a diverse group of clients
• Ensure high availability, performance, connectivity and quick resolve of infrastructure related issues
• Interact with our customers, internal staff, and web developers
• Solve complex, high-impact challenges in a timely and efficient manner
• Document all changes including procedures to install, configure & provide technical support
• Resolve all incidents in line with required service level agreements.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

• Knowing your way around a Linux console is a must (CentOS preferably)
• Proficiency with managing PHP/PHP-FPM, nginx, apache httpd and other web server components
• Strong understanding of DNS.
• Solid networking knowledge.
• Experience managing multiple Linux servers
• Experience with the following databases – mysql and mariadb
• Experience with virtualisation platforms (Hyper-V and/or VMWare favourable)
• Experience in bash scripting favourable
• Exposure to automation tools favourable (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
• Previous experience Azure Public Cloud environment
