The Opportunity

Central Heating New Zealand has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our team based in Wigram due to the recent retirement of the incumbent. 

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in the effective operation of the Finance function.  Ideally you will have 5 plus years in a similar role and want a role which will give you exposure to all aspects of our Finance function.

The Role
 

• Oversee the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll functions.
• Play a key role in the delivery of timely and accurate financial statements.
• Prepare GST returns and assist with the end of year tax return.
• Assist with the end of year external audit
• Evaluate current systems and processes and provide recommendations for improvement
• Participate in relevant finance projects

Your Background

5+ years’ relevant accounting experience.

• Qualified by experience, or part CA or CPA qualified.
• Strong excel and system skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organisation.
• Team Player with a can-do attitude
• Cheerful, upbeat, and the ability to handle pressure and deadlines.
