I am recruiting for a Secondary School Pastoral / Mental Health Support Worker, to work within the Well-being centre in a school in the Middlesbrough area. The role is a full-time position starting in November 2021 and will be on-going until at least the Easter holidays, in the first instance. The school would like to meet candidates for an informal interview, to discuss the role and showcase the schools facilities.
The ideal Pastoral / Mental Health Support Worker will:
- Be able to speak to students on their level, about needs and worries
- Liaise with on-call and internal exclusion team to make sure students are in place
- Monitor students for anxiety/low mood and provide tailored support in form of workbooks and self help guides
- Speak with parents of students who may need extra emotional support
- Liaise with staff, SENCO and pastoral support, regarding targeted students
- Being aware of triggers to signpost students for CAMHS support
- Monitor well-being centre at lunchtimes and breaks
To be considered for this position of Pastoral / Mental Health Support Worker you must have:
- Have experience working with children with similar needs and demands:
- Understand / come from a CAMHS background;
- Be able to communicate with people on all levels;
- Strong caring and supporting nature:
