Senior Supplier Manager, Direct Procurement
Overview of Position
The Senior Supplier Manager, Direct Procurement, is a strategic role supporting the Sourcing leadership team to develop sourcing strategies, design sourcing plans, coordinate negotiations, implement contracts, and drive successful supplier relationships. This role is a part of a high performing sourcing team that can execute on those strategies. The role is also responsible for ensuring strong alignment with, and becoming a trusted advisor to, key functional and Business Unit stakeholders.
Primary focus and activities for this role will be leading the evaluation, negotiation, and management of all resell (direct) business partners. Working in collaboration with Change Healthcare Legal, Finance and other support organizations the Senior Supplier Manager will establish capabilities and systems to deliver an efficient and best in class operating model to support the sourcing needs of Change Healthcare.What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
Manage sourcing activities using advanced sourcing levers as part of a multi-year sourcing pipeline plan to drive total value, including cost savings and supplier innovation, for Change Healthcare
Orchestrate contract development between Change Healthcare and suppliers. Lead negotiation of business terms and conditions. Mitigate legal and commercial risk for Change Healthcare. Ensure alignment between legal terms and procurement objectives
Conduct analysis of qualitative and quantitative characteristics, including suppliers’ capabilities, operational objectives, risk profile, and financial positioning
Develop trusted advisor relationships with key functional and BU stakeholders; work with those stakeholders to deliver project activities with a focus on continuous improvement
Serve as liaison to Finance, Legal, Business Units, Information Security, and other groups to ensure sourcing priorities meet the needs of the stakeholders
Conduct and manage regular Supplier Business Partner communication
Partnering with Change Healthcare leadership team in the execution of terms and conditions as well as various other licensing agreements
Conduct reviews of strategic partners, identify opportunities for greater leverage, economic value, etc. and provide feedback to Change Healthcare leadership.
Act as escalation point to address issues, resolve conflicts, prioritize resources, and remove team impediments
Promote collaborative solution development teams
Ability to understand business goals, stakeholder objectives and desired outcomes.
Deliver quantifiable cost reductions through execution of Business Partner strategies
What are the requirements needed for this position?
5+ years supplier business development experience
5+ years sales experience including direct customer interaction at the C-Suite level
Experience with contract negotiations, supplier selection, supplier management, and contract management
Strong project management capabilities, including business case development, conflict management, written and verbal presentation skills
Experience in MSOffice tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Additional Knowledge and Skills
Experience with procurement-related tools (Oracle, Ariba, Apttus, Salesforce or similar technology solutions)
Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills, including assertiveness, courage, and the ability to influence others
Excellent relationship management skills, demonstrating mature confidence and integrity
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, both as a category lead and as a part of a team
Ability to work in a team environment to collate and act upon feedback from all levels within the business and sourcing environments
Bachelor’s Degree required; Master Degree preferred (preferably MBA)
Six Sigma / Process Improvement /Project Management background
