The Cash Application Specialist is responsible for cash posting of checks, wires, and lockbox receipts. Communicate all cash adjustments and resolving all un-applied cash on our accounts receivable aging. This position will report to the Credit & Collections Manager.

Position may involve performing other duties as required, which may not be mentioned below. Specific duties may change from time to time.

• Post payments daily to customer accounts generated from checks, lockbox, ACH/Wires and credit cards

• Apply credit and debit memos in a timely and accurate manner

• Work with AR team to resolve any unapplied cash

• Research unapplied payments and short pays and communicate with internal and external customers to resolve

• Work with the Credit Manager and Treasury manager to ensure accurate month-end and annual close for AR

• Update reports as needed for management

• Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or upper management

• Valid driver’s license required

• Requires minimum of high school diploma or some college

• Some accounting experience preferred

• Experience in cash receipts posting preferred

• Position requires strong attention to detail

• Proficient in relevant computer applications (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, etc.)

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Must be able to climb, maintain body equilibrium, reach, grasp, bend and walk/stand/sit for extended periods of time

• Must be able to hear and see naturally or with correction

• Ability to work under pressure with time constraints in a changing environment

• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written

• Sustain interpersonal relationships which encourage openness, candor, and trust, both internally and externally
