This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our busy Engagement Team as part of the wider DANCOP programme.

The post has arisen as part of the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Collaborative Outreach Programme as part of the OFS funded National Collaborative Outreach Programme, Uni Connect. Uni Connect aims to identify and address issues around progression into Higher Education. As such we are now looking for a Higher Education Officer to join the Chesterfield College DANCOP team.

The Higher Education Officer role aims to raise awareness of Higher Education study and assist young people to overcome particular barriers to engage with HE. You should have the ability work with young people and adults, advising them on Higher Education pathways. You will assist with the designing and delivery of a bank of ready-made activities and create events for young people in Chesterfield College, ideally focused on raising aspirations to Higher Education. You will work with targeted groups of young people within Chesterfield College and will need to ensure provision is relevant, monitored and evaluated.

The role is internal facing only, and as such you will be required to work closely with individual curriculum areas to support their students with Higher Education progression opportunities. You will be responsible for the organisation of Higher Education fairs on campus, alongside the opportunity of University campus visits. You will be required to work closely with the team and college staff to ensure targeted provision is relevant and successfully delivered, monitored and evaluated. You will also work closely with other partner colleges who are part of the Uni Connect programme.

You will need to be highly flexible as there is an element of working outside of normal office hours (evenings and occasional weekends).

We are happy to consider someone for a full-time role on secondment, a job share arrangement, a zero hours contract for a number of individuals to share, or a mix of the above.
