Chewy Hiring for Senior Software Engineer, UX, at Dania Beach, Florida Full Time

Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, UI for our Fulfillment Systems team in Dania Beach FL. Minneapolis MN. or Boston, MA. As part of this team you will be responsible for designing and building Fulfillment Web Applications using React/Vue and related technologies and integrating with APIs backed by micro-services on AWS. You will the lead in UX technology with a mission to build usable and performant UX components. You should be an excellent team player and a guide/mentor to junior team members. You lead by example, guide the team with best practices and raise the bar on quality and timely delivery in an agile environment.

What You’ll Do:

Working with other technology teams, you and your team will design and build user interfaces that provide critical visibility to our Leadership teams to effectively manage and run the Fulfillment Centers. You’ll integrate with and extract from other critical Fulfillment, Supply Chain, and Business Intelligence systems. You will write simple and sustainable code that reflects a constant understanding of the business impacts. • Prototype and develop new interfaces for internal applications with web technologies.

• Design and build responsive, accessible, and performant UX components for desktop web experiences.

• Interact with the full application stack to access and store information via APIs in a comprehensive Fulfillment applications ecosystem.

• Work in an Agile development environment, collaborating with multiple Fulfillment teams.

• Provide technical guidance to your team by providing design and code reviews among other collaboration techniques.

• Create and execute integration and user experience testing plans.

• Continuously adopt and embrace industry best practices in terms of technology and development.

  What You’ll Need:

• 6+ years of experience creating modern web experiences across devices and form factors.

• Experience in creating customer experiences using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Experience with Vue.JS, React or similar frameworks.

• Experience integrating with lightweight middleware technologies, integration patterns, microservices.

• Excellent customer service skills, including verbal and written communication skills.

• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

• Proficiency in Computer Science fundamentals – object oriented design, data structures, algorithm – design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.

• Have or (more importantly) be willing to learn deep domain knowledge in the area of fulfillment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics or Electrical Engineering.

Bonus:

• Experience in a fulfillment or e-commerce environment.

• Working experience with distributed SCM (GitHub a plus) and AWS.
