DESCRIPTION: CHILD USA, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit national think tank based at the University of Pennsylvania that conducts evidence-based legal, medical, and social science research to identify laws and policies affecting child protection, is seeking a Staff Attorney. The Staff Attorney will be responsible for statutory and case law research, drafting legislative testimony and amicus briefs, and keeping the legal facts and analysis on the website up to date. CHILD USA conducts cutting edge legal and social science research, compiles evidence, promotes ideas, and proposes the most effective policies to prevent childhood abuse and neglect. CHILD USA draws on the combined expertise of the nation’s leading medical and legal academics to reach evidence-based solutions to persistent and widespread child abuse and neglect. CHILD USA is led by Founder, CEO, and Academic Director, and University of Pennsylvania Professor Marci A. Hamilton.QUALIFICATIONS:-Graduation from law school-Successfully passed the bar of any state-2+ years experience with litigation-Strong research and writing skills and personal initiative required.-Three recommendations required.
