About The Team

The Quality Assurance team provide training, reporting, quality assurance and business improvement services. We are a diverse but close knit team with an inclusive and collaborative culture so you’ll be able to bounce ideas off each other adding skills and experience from others into your own role whilst sharing your expertise with them and the wider Unit.

About The Role

As a Business Intelligence Analyst you’ll provide statistical analytical support to the Building Consenting Unit by forecasting, developing, extracting, as well as analysing data. You’ll be responsible for:

• Statistical and data maintenance
• Influencing and educating the business to adopt best practice reporting standards and inform them of appropriate tools and techniques to maximise the use of information for good decision making.
• Developing business data requirements and acceptance criteria for IT systems and process initiatives
• Analysing performance to forecast business trends
• Analysis of market trends to inform forecasting
• Increasing the business’ knowledge of BI capability and empower the business with self-service reporting

About You

If this role is for you, you’ll thrive on the challenge of solving data issues and be solutions focused. You’ll have the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with all teams across the unit and wider Council. The ideal applicant for this position will have:

• A Tertiary degree in relevant discipline (e.g. Management, Commerce, Economics or related fields) or extensive relevant experience
• Minimum 5 years’ experience developing business improvement, analysing and forecasting business information
• A high skill level and experience using one or more of the following (or similar) applications: Business Intelligence Visualisation Tools (Power BI/SQL/Excel)
• Advanced knowledge of Excel
• Experience writing business requirements documents and technical specifications for each report.

Additional Information

Hours of work – 37.5 – 40 hurs per week

Salary – $66,510 – $90,293

Location – This position is primarily based at Christchurch City Council Civic Offices
