About The Role
Local councils, NZTA and Government have been investing in the transport network across Greater Christchurch as part of the regenerating the area. New cycle ways, bus lanes and other network improvements are providing more varied travel choices.
The Community Travel Advisor contributes to the delivery of these exciting initiatives by developing and delivering education and behaviour change programmes and promotions that that encourage road safety, active travel, and travel choices. Day to day, this can involve working within our community, schools, businesses or other organisations as well as planning and setting up education programmes and events.
About You
Using your sound analytical and decision-making skills, you will provide expert advice and be confident making quick and effective decisions based on consideration of available facts. You will propose and implement alternatives where necessary. You are a team player adopting a collaborative approach, always looking at lessons learnt and towards continuous improvement while working in a great team who support each other. You will have a passion for road safety and increasing transport choices for a green, liveable city.

Hours of work – 37.5 – 40 hours per week
Location – This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices – 53 Hereford Street
Salary –The salary band for this position goes from $66,510 to $94,461. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
