Christchurch City Council Looking for Group Financial Controller at Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand Full Time

We are looking for a Group Financial Controller to join our talented Finance Team. The Christchurch City Council is one of the largest employers in the South Island and offers a complexity and diversity not often seen in the Christchurch market.

This varied role will suit an individual that is passionate about engaging with our stakeholders, looking for ways to not only produce an audited annual report, but to deliver a publication that educates our community on how we are doing, including our climate change journey.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, this could be the stepping stone you are looking for on your journey of becoming a CFO.

This role is integral to the finance function of Council, leading the production of our financial accounting services through to the annual reporting and monitoring of our Council controlled organisations, along with everything in between. Another large part of the role will be driving continuous improvements across the finance function for the organisation.

About you | Ko Koe Tēnei

Are you an experienced finance professional who is looking to work for an organisation that supports development and growth. Ideally you’ll have several years exposure to large commercial businesses, hold an accounting degree and be CA or equivalent qualified. You’ll bring energy and enthusiasm to the team as well as a strong desire to continue to develop systems and processes.

• Hours of work – Permanent Fulltime Position
• Location – This position is primarily based at 53 Hereford Street, Christchurch Central
• Salary- The salary band for this position goes from $156,350- $173,722 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
