We are looking for a Planning Technician to be responsible for providing technical support for the processing of resource consents, subdivision consents and building consents. You’ll be part of a motivated team helping to make a difference to our City.

Role
This role will see you gain exposure to a wide variety of work, and even processing straightforward resource consent applications. To do this you’ll have the ability to manage a range of processes and work to deadlines. You’ll be working with a range of customers, both internal and external, providing expert planning advice. Strong communication skills are a must for this, as you will need to be able to adjust your language to suit different audiences and their varying knowledge levels. You will be able to confidently interpret complex documents (e.g. District Plan, Legislation) and case law to make justifiable decisions. You will also have:
