The Strategic Policy Team’s work programme covers strategic direction-setting, policy development and bylaws management and review. This role has a broad focus , dealing with regulatory processes, providing advice on strategy, policy and bylaws issues and supporting the Council’s work with key partners. You will bring your policy or bylaws experience and strategic lens to this role, contributing to analysing complex policy issues and helping to form recommendations on bylaws and policy reviews. Your value-add will be your ability to analyse evidence, clearly articulate the desired outcome and collaborate effectively.

Familiarity With Strategic Policy Development And Implementation Is Key And An Understanding Of The Local Government Act Valuable. Experience With Bylaws Development And Review Would Also Be Very Valuable. Developing Effective And Influential Relationships Will Be a Strength As Will Your Confidence In Working With Managers, Stakeholders And Elected Members. You Will Also Have

Hours of work – 37.5 – 40 hours per week
Position – Permanent
Location – This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices – 53 Hereford Street
Salary – The salary band for this position goes from $88,003 – $97,781 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
