As a Support Officer, you play a key role in providing administrative and secretarial support across the Community Board and Community Governance Teams as well as coordinating the delivery of community projects and events as required.
Given the key nature of this role, we need someone who is a quick learning and who can hit the ground running. This means you’ll be an enthusiastic and energetic self-starter with extensive background experience in administration. You’ll have excellent attention to detail, great computer skills (including Microsoft Office suite) and proven experience in preparing and putting documents on the web. Knowledge of, and experience working with, Infocouncil would be a distinct advantage.
You’ll have an optimistic outlook as well as a proactive, can-do attitude which means you are highly organised, task oriented, a quick learner and able to produce consistently high standards of work. Your ability to work independently means you have the initiative to seek out what can and needs to be done. The nature of this environment means that priorities can change instantaneously, requiring you to adapt and respond accordingly – often within tight timeframes.

Salary: $52,529 – $64,754
Location: Supporting the Waitai Coastal – Burwood – Linwood Community Board, this position is primarily based at Shirley Service Centre – 36 Marshland Road, however staff may be required to assist at other Christchurch City Council locations on occasion
