The Christie Clinic Medical Assistant role performs a variety of patient care and clerical activities to assist providers and nurses. CMAs serve as a liaison, coordinating information between providers, other clinical staff and patients. This position will coordinate the ongoing delivery and management of patient-centered care plans, patient education and patient support.We are currently seeking a full-time Medical Office Assistant in our Vein and Vascular department at our Main Clinic.Previous experience with EMR preferred. Must be able to anticipate provider and patient needs while functioning efficiently in a high volume, fast-paced environment. This position will involve travel to outlying communities. Excellent customer service and computer skills a must. Previous medical office experience, C.N.A. or CMA certification preferred.Responsibilities:Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments prior to appointment. Clean and restock following appointment. Assist patient to exam room, take vitals, weight and height of patient. Enter information into the electronic medical record.Maintain and update patient medical record upon visit including allergies, medications, etc. and enter into the electronic medical record.Flag appropriate room for provider to see patient.Assist with procedures during appointment.Review online transcriptions prior to patient appointment and update during appointment as necessary.Maintain relevant medical and office supplies for department effectiveness. . Use inventory management system in place to maintain appropriate par levels and assist fellow team members with ordering when necessary.Perform related work as required.Provide post procedural care and documentation as requiredTravel to satellite clinics (reliable transportation necessary)Late- Stay Schedule (flexible hours to cover office based labs prep/recovery area).Sterile technique setting up surgical tray and prepping patients for outpatient procedures including wound debridement, vein ablations, sclerotherapy, angiography.Phlebotomy/lab drawsQualifications:Ability to listen and communicate with others in a professional and caring manner1-2 years of experience as a medical assistant, preferred
