Job Description
What You’ll Be Doing
Collateral Analysts are required to work closely with a variety of internal departments and external clients to ensure the objectives of the business unit are achieved. The Collateral Analyst is responsible for routine client transactions and the position may require a significant level of interaction with management of various internal and external groups. The Collateral analyst also provides analysis and feedback to the Account Executive regarding perceived asset deterioration, discrepancies, etc.

How You’ll Succeed
Responsible for accurately processing and verifying weekly/monthly Borrowing Base information in a timely manner, with client contact as necessary
Reconcile all client provided data to confirm accuracy and eligibility of assets comprising the Borrowing Base and liaise with clients to discuss variances with reported information
Advise Account Executive of any perceived asset deterioration or reporting discrepancies
Process client advance requests and prepare advance authorization form for Account Executive approval
Perform verifications of client A/R according to the prescribed schedule
Quickly and accurately analyze financial information provided by customers and understand the dynamics that can have an impact on the collateral value of assets financed by CIBC Asset-Based Lending Inc.
Take responsibility for resolving customer concerns or issues quickly and effectively, using resourceful and constructive solutions to address
Liaise and interact with clients and other CIBC Business Partners as part of the daily management of the portfolio to ensure high levels of customer satisfactions are achieved
Act independently of the business to ensure ongoing compliance of the terms and conditions of the authorized credit and exercise delegated authority to make decisions as required
Ensure compliance to internal controls and procedures (e.g. update MIF regarding risk ratings, review dates and monitor Monthly RIL reporting) with full authority to escalate as appropriate to maintain integrity of CIBC’s position
Manage relationships with CIBC Business Partners on all credit-related activities to ensure accounts operate within terms and conditions of the authorized credit
Work with Manager and senior analysts to implement changes to credit resulting from amendments, renewals or as directed by recommendations of RM’s, field exams and appraisals.
Who You Are
You have a degree/diploma in Business or Commerce.

You can demonstrate experience in Microsoft Suite and advanced Microsoft Excel. It is an asset if you have knowledge and understanding of Stucky, CEAS, MIF.
