City of Norfolk, VA Hiring for Administrative Technician Job at Norfolk, VA Full Time

• Assists in providing daily financial reports to the City Treasurer’s Office and in resolving any payment issues.
• Assists in processing of accounting documents.
• Responsible for greeting internal and external customers and answering a high volume of telephone inquiries concerning planning, zoning, permitting, inspections, the online portal, and other departmental matters, while providing excellent customer service.
• Responsible for managing the process of departmental related document imaging into Laserfiche.
• Performs related administrative duties including receiving, stamping, recording, filing, and assisting with records management and storage.

Work requires knowledge of a specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature which may be obtained with six months/one year of advanced study or training past the high school equivalency. Junior college, vocational, business, technical or correspondence schools are likely sources. Appropriate certification may be awarded upon satisfactory completion of advanced study or training.

Required:

• Two years clerical experience.

Preferred:

• Certification from the State of Virginia as a Permit Technician within 18 months of appointment.
• Experience in planning, zoning, building, or construction trades.

Signing Bonus: This position is eligible for a one-time $5,000 signing bonus for applications received on or after February 22, 2022 until June 30, 2022. The signing bonus will be paid in two (2) increments: $2,500 upon completion of 60 days of employment, and $2,500 upon completion of your probationary period. To receive the signing bonus, you must be an active employee in good standing.
