The Educational Psychology Service is highly regarded by schools/settings and parents/carers. As an Educational Psychologist in York, you would be working within a needs-led service model that supports a graduated approach, with a focus on building capacity at SEN support and providing high quality statutory assessments across the 0-25 age range. You must hold an Honours degree in Psychology and a postgraduate professional qualification in Educational Psychology at Doctorate or Masters level. You will be expected to have gained appropriate and relevant experience in working with children and young people and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a ‘Practitioner Psychologist’.
We welcome applications from fully qualified HCPC registered Educational Psychologists and Trainee Educational Psychologists expecting to complete the Doctoral programme in Summer 2023.
As part of this role, you will be required to travel to schools and settings out in the community, therefore, a full and valid driving licence is desirable.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C2: Can express him/herself spontaneously at length with a natural conversational flow, avoiding or backtracking around any difficulty so smoothly that the person with whom they are conversing is hardly aware of it.

Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
