NON CYC VACANCY
SCHOOL VACANCY
Sixth Form Learning and Wellbeing Officer
This important role will be the lead welfare contact for post-16 students – as well as parents/carers, teachers and external partners – to ensure our learners maximise their academic achievement whilst also balancing their social and emotional well-being.
Working closely with the Head of Year and other pastoral colleagues, the role will be an integral part of the day to day running of the sixth form.
You will have the personality and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively to support our learners. This may be in a variety of situations – from being a mentor, taking a proactive approach with learners, engaging with other staff within the school (e.g. SEND team and Exams Officer) and liaising closely with parents. Whatever the interaction, you will have a caring, holistic and innovative approach.
To achieve this, you will have previous experience of working with adolescents with social, emotional and mental health needs in an education, healthcare or community setting and have formalised this experience with a current qualification in healthcare/emotional well-being/mental health or similar.
You have the chance to work in one of the high-performing schools in the region, within a caring, exciting and thriving environment. We enjoy consistently high levels of parental satisfaction and positive student feedback / engagement which, along with over 170 highly motivated colleagues and excellent leadership at all levels, provides a fertile environment for you to develop within.
You will be joining a highly successful, oversubscribed 11-18 mixed comprehensive school with 1600 students in the school, including over 320 in the sixth form and a Trust with three primary schools, one junior and one infants school.
Please access the job description / application form from our website and return by email (along with a covering letter no more than 2 pages A4) to [email protected]
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We require the successful applicant to undertake an enhanced Criminal Record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
