We are seeking to recruit a User Services Librarian to give operational leadership to staff in the Business Library and manage the facilities and services delivered in the library. Library Services have been awarded the Customer Service Excellence Standard and this role plays a key part in maintaining standards and delivering services for library users.
Responsibilities include: Managing library services and premises at the Business library, the day to day management of circulation, enquiry and support services, library facilities and premises. Managing the team of Information Assistants and Evening/Weekend staff based at the Business Library; ensuring training and staff awareness of services and procedures are kept up to date; identifying service improvements and working collaboratively with library colleagues and other University stakeholders on implementing changes.
Proven experience of managing/supervising staff and services in a customer focused library environment is required. You will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to plan and undertake a range of tasks, managing your workload effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to interact with library colleagues, users and other stakeholders inside and outside the institution. A CILIP accredited qualification in librarianship or information management or equivalent experience is expected.
