Welcome to the New Zealand Aviation Security Service (AvSec), where our mission is to keep the skies above New Zealand safe for all. AvSec are seeking fixed term staff as Load Assistants to join from the start of September 2023 until 31st March 2024. This is a brilliant opportunity to work alongside professional Aviation Security Officers at the Screening Point within the Airport.

About the role:

The primary responsibility of Load Assistants is to greet passengers and prepare them for screening. This includes ensuring laptops are removed from bags and passenger items are on the tray correctly before it goes through the x-ray machine.

Load Assistants will work a shift rotation that includes early and late shifts of 6.5 hours per day, including weekend work, or otherwise set days that applicants are able to commit to. The rate of pay is approximately $25.56 an hour.

We work with a computerised rostering system so successful applicants will need to be available for the duration of the period above. Paid training will be provided to the successful candidates.

Requirements:

• Customer service experience preferred
• Great communication skills and confidence dealing with a broad cross section of people
• Willingness to follow all health and safety guidelines as required
• Available for the duration of the fixed term period
• Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend an Assessment Centre
