JOB DESCRIPTION:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Analyze the functional requirements and user stories to be able to efficiently and effectively design and develop software applications.
• Understand the software development lifecycle (SDLC) for enterprise wide systems leveraging strong end-to-end design and development experience.
• Design and develop full stack applications that can be deployed to a cloud platform with multiple backend microservices using React, Spring Boot Java, Apache Camel, as well as maintaining necessary databases with PostgreSQL and Oracle.
• Create full CI/CD pipelines in Concourse using Kubernetes, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle and YAML to streamline the process and SVN and GIT for version control.
• Develop code based on business requirements and user stories.
• Conduct robust unit testing to ensure deliverables match the design and provide support for subsequent release testing.
• Build and maintain existing software using WebSphere, SQL, SOAP and REST protocol, and maintain secure code with Pitest, SonarQube, and JUnit testing.
• Develop, maintain, and provide technical expertise to transfer knowledge, document processes, and create a knowledge base for implementations.
• Provide on-the-job training and guidance to more junior developers.

Typically Manager or above

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT or related and 3 (three) years of experience in application development. In the alternative, employer will accept master’s degree in computer science, IT or related and 1 (one) year of experience in application development.

Must have work experience with each of the following:

Primary Location United States – Illinois – Chicago

Mon-Fri., 8:30am – 4:45pm, 37.5 hours/week, $95,000 to $125,000 per year, overtime exempt. This position qualifies for CNA’s employee referral policy program.
