CNI College Hiring for Computer Applications Instructor at Remote Full Time

POSITION SUMMARY

Working with minimal supervision from the Director of Online Learning, the online instructor is primarily responsible for providing a strong, student-centered online instructions to students taking online Computer Applications class, and also participate in quality improvement activities to enhance curriculum and course content. The on-line instructor will ensure that content is delivered such that learning objectives are fulfilled.

DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

The course is designed to introduce the student to the online learning environment and the use of technology (e.g. laptop computer, Microsoft programs, Canvas, computer based learning resources MyITlab, internet search, LIRN, academic honesty/plagiarism). Upon completion, students will be able to demonstrate proficient computer application skills permitting academic success (online and in the classroom) through the use of electronic learning resources.

Preparation for Class

• Ensure that sections are free from error, and that all due dates for assignments are set, and that course content is accessible, and that delivery and systems are integrated.
• Ensure alignment with approved lesson plans that are provided by CNI College.
• Ensure that current standards related to instructional area are met.

Teaching the Class

• Present material to class in an engaging and positive fashion.
• Follow approved curriculum and course outline.
• Ensure that classroom environment is conducive to learning.
• Respond to student communication within 24 hours.
• Interact positively to the student discussion posts by providing timely and frequently fashion several times during the week.
• Grade all assignment submitted by students within 48 hours.
• Continually provide feedback so as to ensure student’s success.
• Receive feedback from students and adapt learning activities so as to achieve learning outcome.

Student Success

• Continuously monitor and evaluate student success.
• Notify the Dean of student Services about students who are high-risk academically and need further assistance.
• Communicate with student who are high-risk academically and provide support.
• Supplement student study material when needed
• Refer students to their Dean of student services if additional advising is required.
• Keep a track of student academic performance and provide this information to Dean of student services when requested.

Keeping accurate and timely records.

• Maintain accurate records of student academic performance.
• Maintain records of student grades.
• Provide reports of academic performance to Director of Education in timely fashion.
• Provide grades to registrar in a timely fashion

QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s Degree from nationally or regionally accredited institution, in discipline of course OR Master’s Degree with 18 course hours of graduate level courses in related subject areas which support curriculum content.
• At least 1 year of online teaching experience.
• A minimum of two years online teaching experience preferable.
• Successful completion of the Master Teacher In-Service within 30 days of hire.
• Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others.
• Must be able to read and follow lesson plans or guides, present educational information to participants in a clear fashion, address questions or concerns and utilize effective training/instructional methods to reinforce learning.
• Access to personal computer, broadband Internet services, and other hardware/software.
• Experience in Canvas.
