Coastal Carriers of Connecticut Hiring for Dispatcher / Maintenance Supervisor at Ansonia, CT Full Time
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement preventative maintenance program.
Ensure fleet compliance with all HAZMAT and FMCSR?s .
Schedule and Manage short and long term repair projects.
Review DVIR?s on a daily basis to ensure DOT compliance.
Manage parts inventory. Maintain lowest possible costs.
Develop tire tracking program and efficient system that best fits company?s needs.
Maintain clean and organized shop area.
Maintain terminal property and building.
Develop and maintain an ongoing positive working relationship with company staff.
Communicate with dispatch staff regarding availability of fleet equipment for PM?s and repairs.
Manage and maintain paperwork per all applicable DOT/HAZMAT regulations.
Maintain database for all maintenance operations. Maintain files for all company equipment.
Make recommendations that improve efficiency of maintenance operations.
Must be available for on-call duty.
Perform other related duties as assigned by President and Operations Manager.
Schedule and plan customer deliveries/orders on a daily basis for distribution to all drivers.
Receive and handle phone orders, faxes, e-mails for all deliveries to be scheduled.
Coordinate delivery schedule for both day and night deliveries.
Respond to the customer?s needs in a timely and professional manner to ensure complete satisfaction.
Responsible to maintain lowest possible costs through proper scheduling.
Responsible to maximize loaded miles to increase efficiency.
Communicate with maintenance staff regarding availability of fleet equipment, PM?s, and repairs.
Handle inventory control for designated customers and locations.
Separate and scan paperwork to be forwarded to customers as well as review scans for remote terminals.
Communicate to Billing Supervisor and Operations Manager any system malfunctions which affect the ability to scan.
Coordinate driver access to loading terminals.

Minimum high school diploma required.
Strong managerial and communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Computer experience a necessity.
Strong organizational skills a must.
Some trucking or gasoline industry background preferred.
Background (experience or education) in maintenance field.
