Head of Product

Job brief

The Head of Product will lead the efforts of building a digital commercial platform in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will collaborate and work with cross-functional teams to design, build and roll-out digital products that deliver the company’s vision and strategy.

Responsibilities

• Gain a deep understanding of our customer’s pain-points, customer experience, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that improve customer experience, solve pain-points and drive company growth
• Be the voice of the customer by representing them in conversations with company stakeholders and make sure company builds the right product for its customers
• Create buy-in with internal stakeholders and key external partners on digital commercial platform vision, as well as the digital products the platform is comprised of
• Facilitate cross-company understanding of digital commercial platform by translating business goals into product strategy and setting direction and goals for Product Team
• Build product management team by helping develop and grow product management capability and leading Product Owners, monitoring their performance and performance of their products
• Lead Product Owners in translating product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes. Develop and oversee a successful product strategy
• Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact for all digital products
• Lead UX/UI teams in designing product to make it intuitive and attractive to the customer
• Provide visibility of long-term product family roadmaps by leading Product Owners in defining and prioritizing product backlogs
• Work closely with tech, data and engineering teams to spec out digital products and deliver products according to spec with quick time-to-market and optimal resources
• Collaborate with Chief Growth Officer reports to ensure company growth plans are consistent with digital platform and digital product strategy
• Act as a platform and product evangelist to build awareness and understanding within the company
• Represent the company by visiting customers and key stakeholders to solicit feedback on company products and services
• Lead cross-functional teams on development projects, defining features that will satisfy user needs while staying within budget constraints
• Lead Product Owners in estimating time and resources needed to complete tasks based on experience and data

Requirements and skills

• Proven work experience as a product manager or product owner of multiple digital products and/or product features

• Proven track record of managing a successful digital product throughout its lifecycle

• Proven ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management

• Proven experience in managing teams of 5+ managers

• Deep knowledge of Agile Scrum methodologies and tools

• Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies (e.g. Cloud, Data Stack, SOA, etc.)

• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done

• Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Fully fluent in English, Portuguese is a plus

• Knowledge about the FMCG industry and platform businesses (multi-sided markets) is a plus

• Life-long learner with continuing education on new skills and technologies

• Masters/Bachelors degree(s) in Computer Science, Engineering, Business preferred
