Job Summary:

This role is expected to take a lead role in the design, development, and maintenance and provide
assistance with the support of applications software.
The requirements of this position include technical analysis, design and programming, integration support,
technical customer support and operations support. A strong focus is placed on analysis and design work
and the mentoring of more junior technical members of the team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Designing, coding, testing, and installing applications programs either in one major program or a range of programs across multiple platforms
• Conducting design and code reviews, and providing advice and support of more junior members of the team
• Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining systems and program documentation ·
• Analysis and design of applications programs and databases ·
• Assist and advice in problem determination and resolution ·
• Design and development of application enhancements and assistance with troubleshooting applications programs
• Liaising with, and providing advice to, business analysts to confirm/clarify business requirements ·
• Liaising with users to assist with problem determination ·
• Work closely with the business analysts to evaluate possible solutions, and refine the business and technical requirements
• Ensure that solutions are developed within agreed time frames and to the agreed scope such that business requirements are met
• Provide quality applications that are free of defects, fit for purpose, and designed for ongoing ease of support and maintenance
• Develop solutions that meet the security and privacy standards of illion ·
• Adhere to published processes and procedures and recommend enhancements to process and procedures where appropriate
• Effectively communicate the status of development activities to the Project Manager
• Actively contribute to the system documentations Operations Support
• Exhibiting strong customer and service orientation
• Working across teams and functions to ensure the ongoing health and performance of IT systems are maintained and enhanced
• Consistently responding rapidly to high severity systems problems; resolving them quickly and effectively
• Effectively communicate across all levels of the organisation
• Provide occasional after hour support
• Knowledge of source control systems like SVN and GIT is desirable
• Experience working in an Agile environment is desirable
• Three to five years of experience in Programming and Applications Design, with a minimum of three years in a large IT site, coupled with tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or a related discipline
• At least three years commercially proven experience in developing applications, including at least 2 years working with Microsoft .NET and proficient in C# language, architecture and design standards. Extensive knowledge of dependency injection and Entity framework ·
• Developed knowledge of Object Orientated (OO) analysis and design, OO methodologies and techniques
• Developed skills and knowledge of one of the major relational database packages such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL or DB2
• Experience in working in a Continuous Integration environment using Stash, Team city & Octopus deploy
• Strong programming aptitude
• Ability to understand the essential needs of users and meet these in well-designed programs
• Experience in component and assembly testing
• In depth knowledge of the SDLC
• Knowledge of common debugging techniques
• Experience in planning and estimating personal and other’s work effort
• Ability to communicate problems of a technical nature to all levels of management and users
• A high level of self motivation and ability mentor other junior IT associates
• Skills in conducting structured analysis and problem analysis

Salary Range: $85,000-$95,000
