Associate Software Engineer

About the role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, in this role you will design, implement and maintain platform services following current best practice in the industry.

You will champion, and practice great engineering principles.

You will be an enthusiastic contributor to the team. You will be a self-starter and show initiative reaching out to other Coles team members to accomplish the best outcome for both your team and Coles.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop integration solutions on the Azure Cloud: microservices, functions, APIs
• Monitor and support our existing fleet of microservices
• Utilise modern software engineering and DevOps practices
• A growth mindset
• To contribute to a culture of humility, respect and trust

Good things you’ll need

To be successful in this role and team, we require the following criteria to be met:

• Experience working with Java, Cloud and Infrastructure technologies

• An interest in API, Infrastructure design and DevOps ways of working
• Relevant post-secondary qualification (in technology engineering discipline such as computer science, information systems engineering etc)
• Good interpersonal skills and demonstrates initiative
• Good analytical and problem resolution skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
