About the role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager of Integration Services, you will be joining a fast-paced, team of Software Engineers and operate in an agile environment. You will be working alongside some of the most innovative Senior Engineers leading this team, to migrate workloads to Cloud and develop services to enable various Coles platforms. Your expertise will have a real impact and help shape the way our customers shop online and in store, as we continue to drive innovation and optimise customer experiences.

About you & your skills

You are someone who holds in high regard the quality of the code and puts measures in place to ensure the quality & performance. You have passion for software development in a retail environment. To be successful in this role and team, we require the following criteria to be met:

• Experience in backend development, in a senior capacity
• Ability to adopt Agile Methodologies
• Experience with API integrations, REST APIs

• Ability to code in the Java, Python, NodeJS, Docker
• Experience in building microservices and serverless components either in the AWS or Azure space
• Understand the CI/CD approaches and ability to contribute to the application pipelines and infra as code
• Extensive commercial experience as a Senior Software Engineer

• Cloud experience mandatory, Azure preferred
• Experience with Azure databricks, datafactory, airflow or technologies like these would be desirable but not mandatory
