This job is eligible for relocation assistance to aid with the costs associated with moving to the Colorado Springs area.
The starting pay for this position is set at $56.81/hour followed by an increase to $59.65/hour upon successfully completing probation (typically six months).

How Will You Make an Impact?
Colorado Springs Utilities is seeking an Electric Power Line Troubleshooter to support operational needs and maintenance on our electric distribution system. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with our Planning and Engineering, Construction and Maintenance, and Distribution Control personnel while performing a variety of technical duties and ensuring safety compliance on our job sites. Some of the ways in which you will make an impact include:
Assisting in the minor maintenance of underground and overhead power lines and equipment
Responding to underground outages to assist in service restoration
Setting up clearances and hotline holds for emergency power restoration
Performing distribution and transmission switching to accommodate repairs and clearances
Reviewing technical documentation and designs for accuracy
Performing clean-up and safe handling of hazardous waste from system equipment
Please note that this position requires the successful candidate to work on-call, overtime, weekends, holidays, etc. as business needs dictate.
Who You Are
Relevant and progressively responsible experience in a journey-level line technician or lineworker capacity is valued
Completion of a Line Technician Apprenticeship program
Possession of a valid CDL Class A license
Knowledge of electrical system principles, voltage requirements, equipment, installation, and maintenance is valued
Knowledge of metering principles and practices is valued
Skill in installing and maintaining electrical distribution and transmission systems
Ability to interpret specifications, schematics, and written instructions
