Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Academic Administration and Finance (DAAF), the incumbent provides administrative and clerical support to the DAAF and the Department of Classics.
Responsibilities
Maintains academic files and databases; coordinates departmental exams; assists with special events (lectures, conferences, etc.), types, edits, and proofreads correspondence; processes transactions in ARC, FinSys, and Concur, including the payment of invoices and generating purchase requisitions; processes FRAP reimbursements; arranges travel for department members and visitors; prepares billing of mail and copy charges for faculty and students; tracks payments; orders departmental supplies; oversees maintenance and service contracts for department equipment; prepares PAFs for student and faculty appointments; processes forms for academic degree requirements; processes work-study and casual payroll; assists in managing work-study study and student-casual employees; reconciles ARC statements monthly; coordinates requests to Facilities for maintenance of department space; maintains calendar for department spaces; distributes mail and makes occasional hand deliveries; screens visitors and incoming calls; maintains department files; maintains and coordinates audio-visual equipment usage; maintains department mailing lists; orders course supplies, textbooks, and desk copies; orders and maintains computer equipment; assists the DAAF in the development and maintenance of the department website; coordinates logistics for the bi-weekly colloquium in Classics; maintains department course information and communicates it to faculty, students, and registrar.
Performs other administrative duties as assigned by the DAAF.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or its equivalent required. Two years’ related experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
Some college and a minimum of one year financial experience preferred. Website and other computer skills strongly preferred.
