Combined Insurance Hiring for Global Product Owner – Data Ingestion at United States Full Time

We are looking for an experienced Sr Product Owner, to lead the creation of data ingestion, transformation, review, cleaning, presentation, and extraction features and functionality for Chubb globally commencing with the North America and EMEA Regions. The Product Owner will collaborate with the Product Owner Product and Underwriting, the Head of Intelligent Process Automation, CIOs, Business Solution Leads, Underwriters, Actuaries, Architects, User Experience Designers, Engineers, Testers to deliver solutions to underwriting, product, claims, operations and other relevant functions and lines of business at Chubb globally.

The right candidate should be able to identify and work with a diverse team of individuals with a mix of Big data, Infrastructure, developers and backend engineers. The candidate should be able to operate at the intersection of Infrastructure, Big Data, Storage, & Online Services and explore all aspects of a Data ingestion that collects, stores and serves large amount of information.

The role will

• Ensure solutions developed provide business value, speed and enhanced user experience to our employees and our customers
• Be recognized as the subject matter expert leading the data efforts
• Define the data first roadmap
• Lead business analysis activities
• Understand business challenges and requirements
• Understand end to end business use cases
• Collaborate with underwriting, product design with product managers, architects and engineers
• Represent data scientists and engineers during design activities to ensure business needs are met
• Define user requirements, functional requirements, data flows, business process flows
• Create epics and user stories and lead story mapping to develop functionality
• Lead sprint planning and grooming
• Ensure developed functionality meets functional and quality requirements
• Ensure solutions can be supported and easily maintained
• Coordinate and negotiate delivery with other product owners for cross team delivery of product features
• Partner with project management, engineering and testing to define project delivery timelines
• Support product release processes
• Prioritize backlogs for new features and enhancement development
• Triage and prioritize and bug fixes in backlogs.

Education / Certifications

• 7 years Data Science experience
• Bachelor’s degree required in a Data Engineering role, Engineering, Mathematics or Physics
• Program language knowledge like Python, and/or Java
• Experience working with a variety of source systems and types (databases, files, APIs, SaaS, etc.)
• Hands-on experience in BI and Data Warehousing, with an emphasis on ETL / data ingestion in a cloud DW / data lake environment
• Knowledge of distributed computing platforms like Kafka, Spark etc. is a plus.
• Deep understanding of Data Analytics, Big Data, Storage, Compute & network infrastructures
• Lead framework-based data ingestion pipelines development to ingest data from a variety of sources into the cloud platform
• Manage the data ingestion framework to easily extract and load data from various sources into data processing tools, data integration software, and cloud storage
• Influence and guide strategy, execution and innovation for all aspects of data analytics
• Experience in taking proactive actions to identify typical problems and issues during the normal course of work and solve them with minimum guidance
• Engage with the open-source community to understand existing work and influence
• Ability to interpret and manipulate large data sets, data storage, ETL and data modelling
• Proven experience in Data Analysis role with programming skills in SAS and Python
• Good hands-on Experience with Data warehouse implementation
• Translate customer and technical requirements into detailed technical plans, architecture, and design.
