Summary You will serve as a POLICE OFFICER (INSTRUCTOR) in the SECURITY DEPARTMENT of NAVBASE VENTURA COUNTY SEC. Responsibilities You will facilitate classroom studies for law enforcement personnel using instructional techniques or formats (e.g., role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, lectures). You will prepare course material to instruct personnel in the field of law enforcement (e.g., law and evidence, terrorist, laws of arrest, search and seizure, basic criminology, accident investigation). You will serve as a firearms range control officer in the operation of a range program for a Practical Weapons Course (PWC) or Firearms Training System (FATS). You will report performance, progress, or training needs of law enforcement employees to supervisor. You will explain policies, goals, procedures, and regulations to assigned law enforcement personnel. You will collaborate with training facilities (e.g., installation personnel, regional training academy staff) to supplement course instruction. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
