The API Chapter in Digital Operations and Technology is responsible for building the APIs and microservices powering the award winning CommBank Mobile App and other digital platforms at CBA. We are delivering the bank of tomorrow for our 7 million customers as part of a fun, caring, inclusive, and diverse team.

On any given week you will be:
Delivering innovative solutions for the CommBank App and other digital platforms as part of a cross-functional squad
Delivering elegant, well tested, and maintainable code
Ensuring our technical approach is sound, fit for purpose, and well architected
Supporting deployments across our Azure and AWS (Amazon Web Services) environments through our continuous delivery pipelines
Promoting a culture of continuous learning, experimentation and innovation while contributing to the definition & governance of our standards and best practices
Sharing knowledge and learning through your chapter, workshops, and guilds
Contributing to growing the next generation of talent through our graduate and intern academy
We’d love to hear from Engineers and Senior Engineers who have:
Hands-on experience building elegant APIs and microservices in a secure, high-performance environment – we use C# .NET Core and Framework but are happy to talk to people who are proficient with Java, Python, Go, C/C++, or any other general-purpose language.
Experience in designing web applications and distributed systems
Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers with varying levels of experience, including developing their general technical & decision-making capabilities.
Understand a range of modern software engineering and architecture concepts, including end to end test automation, CI/CD pipelines (TeamCity), and RESTful web services.
Proven experience solving problems in complex domains
Proactively identify and manage risks, including assessing and controlling risks of various kinds and apply this appropriately to diverse situations
Displays courage and willing to always contribute constructive feedback – not being afraid to highlight issues and challenges and bringing alternative solutions to the table
