This position is located in the Bureau of Policy, Programs and Operations, Division of Operations. The incumbent in this position is primarily responsible for monitoring and supervising the work productivity for the Pennsylvania Child Abuse History clearance processes, Out of State background check processes, the National Sex Offender Registry (NSOR) verification, and monitoring the phone system for incoming calls and staff assistance. The incumbent is also crossed-trained and serves as a back-up to perform duties and responsibilities for the Adam Walsh Unit (FBI), and CareCheck. They provide direct supervision to Clerk Typist III staff in order to ensure that applicable provisions of the Child Protective Services Law (CPSL), federal and state statutes, and the Child Protective Services Regulations (3490) are adhered to and implemented accurately and timely. The primary purpose of this position is to provide protection to children by minimizing their risk of harm by conducting background check clearances to prevent perpetrators of child abuse or neglect from having further access to children. This position reports to the Background Check Administrative Officer and also performs various assignments for the ChildLine Manager. This position is to manage staff and the flow of the applications in a timely manner.
