THE POSITION

Y ou will provide professional employment and outreach services to both customers and employers within a local workforce development area. Apply today!
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Career Advisors apply knowledge of workforce development programs, provide career guidance to assist job seekers in making and carrying out career decisions, and develop and conduct workshops and orientation sessions reviewing CareerLink services. This position coordinates and provides services using a case management approach, assisting the job seeker to develop employment goals and create and modify an Individual Employment Plan. You will coordinate support and related services with other providers, track participant progress toward goals, and provide follow up activities. This position also provides services to employers including making contacts, analyzing workforce needs, and referring qualified jobseekers.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment.
Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday – Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Successful completion of the Career Advisor Trainee (commonwealth title) training program;or
One year of experience interviewing the public to collect and identify customer needs, evaluating eligibility for programs, and researching data to make decisions, and a bachelor’s degree;or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
